How about some reaction clips with the caption: "Parasite makes boring You-Tube clip to gain publicity for his boring website."

BAH: I got overly excited by the title, thinking the article would be about PZ doing something highly entertaining with a wafer.

It is sort of funny, but I'm a bit wafered out.

Er, no. That was a deliberate send up of media squeamishness over all things muslim.

Bit of a crappy clip actually, but that bit was mildly amusing.

AllanW's Avatar Comment 15 by AllanW

Sad and pathetic effort at humour IMO. Even the supposedly wry inclusion of the 'Scene missing' caption as a comment on media cowardice falls flat. Not a good effort and certainly sub-standard compared to the ballsy and principled and educational activities of PZ lately.

Styrer-'s Avatar Comment 19 by Styrer-

This Edmondson chap is nowhere near as funny and talented as he seems to think he is by continuing his self-promotion with this messy and boring little clip.

Time he moved on to topics he can better understand, as his stance on this and on Expelled seems very confused. Poor fellow should first take a little holiday to sort his head out.

What an utter waste of time, effort and money.

Best,
Styrer

This video has reminded me that we athiests do have a stake in the future of Catholic Church. The loss of nun-themed porn would be a terrible blow to Western culture....

I made this video in a day (sorry it's not funnier) for fun.

My detractors * in these comments:

"Since when is Pharyngula a multi-million dollar blog?"

"Parasite makes boring You-Tube clip to gain publicity for his boring website."

"Time he moved on to topics he can better understand, as his stance on this and on Expelled seems very confused."

...have missed the joke, the point, my intention or all three.

AllanW's Avatar Comment 26 by AllanW

Thanks for the information miker80 but I don't think we missed anything. The joke is unfunny, the point is poorly made and the intention of self-publicity is obvious; did I miss anything out? Do you expect any better reaction to an admittedly rushed and shoddy piece of work? Sorry to disappoint you.

I thought it was cute. Didn't know RD had a thing for S&M -- though I suppose his ongoing debates and "interactions" with religious loonies and wingnuts (a/k/a "banging one's head against a brick wall") should have clued me in that he was a glutton for punishment.

I kid, I kid! ;-)

Allan,

The jokes are unfunny... to you and a bunch of other people. That's true and expected.

The intention was not self publicity. It was important not to let anyone assume this was from the producers of Expelled so my name needed to be there. Blog readers are not my target market. The intention was my own amusement and to entertain the people over on Pharyngula * (who I of course am aware are from all over the world and include people from here) as they seemed to really enjoy the last one.

Miker80,

Maybe, possibly, you might consider, asking RD.NET to remove this one, for posterity sake, including all the posts as well. Doesn't have to be for any other reason than you simply asked them to do so. No further discussion needed. No explanations. Just out of site, and move on. Everyone would respect your decision. No questions asked. No commentary expected from anyone. We all look forward to your future creations. I surely do!

Thank you.

Hmm.. it is bit elitist for an artist to blame the audience. Perhaps you would like to post on this thread on pharyngula:
