Dr. PZ Myers, author of the science blog Pharyngula, delivered the commencement address to the graduating Masters and Doctoral candidates on May 13, 2009 at USC's Keck School of Medicine in Los Angeles, CA. His talk focused on the responsibility of the public intellectual in today's society. Controversial and congenial, Dr. Myers asserts several societal obligations for the newest generation of scientists.
