Great job PZ! You had said you were nervous and having trouble memorizing all the lines but it ended up looking very well done. I love that you are the one to suggest evolution as a tool to the creator, ha!

The bit about the humanoids not even being part of the divine plan was also glorious.

First time i did not hear a thing - that tie was like a elephant in the room. Second time i just listened and it was great fun.
-When people ask me if there is anything about Mr Dawkins that I do not agree with I always say: Yes, I hate his taste in ties (they make gay people and Italians cry).

What! He dares to blaspheme against the ties?!

I think they're great - in fact, like Richard's hawaiian shirts, I have begun to look out for them now - as all part of the 'show'.

Ties are about the only things available to men in suits that can express a bit of originality and fun.

Viva fun sciencey and animal-related ties!

HourglassMemory's Avatar Comment 24 by HourglassMemory

This one was brilliant. PZ Myers is actually very good! It could be the editing though, with lots of tries.

Here's something I noticed in the logic of the main joke though. I couldn't help noticing it.

The Deity seems to already have made humans with a blindspot. PZ then suggests a process which would end up giving humans blindspots again.

This could have been something they overlooked, BUT I don't think it ruins it. At all.
I can totally see PZ creating the evolutionary algorythm which in the end wouldn't create blindspots, and then the deity, being the dumb entity that it always is in these episodes, notices this, and gives them blindspots when PZ isn't looking.

This one goes right along with the Michael Shermer one.
Perhaps an astronomer next? Like Neil deGrasse Tyson or Phil Plait?

More like these should be made, these "Pleads to the Deity" with actual real rationalists and non-believers from the real world.

I commented on the Michael Shermer video a few days ago and suggested that more videos like those be made.
I actually got a response back (I don't know if it was from 'Mr.Deity' himself) saying that he loved the idea. It seems he got PZ Meyers for this one!

He said he would love to have Hitchens too, because I suggested Hitchens appearing and the joke would be Hitchens never smiling as jokes were made by other characters.

I would love to see Dawkins on this one.
Richard, if you ever get invited to participate, please try to be part of it.

How about the out-takes? Worth seeing?

Mon, 12 Oct 2009 22:02:00 UTC | #405189

HourglassMemory's Avatar Comment 26 by HourglassMemory

They could gather the outtakes, of all the episodes, and put them in the special features of the DVD's.
I think they don't have dvd's for sale but it could be a way to make money...
I'm sure some people would buy them (yes, even having them available on the internet), because it would, in the end, benefit both parties: Giving money to this group so they they could make more videos, and giving the buyer exclusive material which isn't available on the internet.

I was smiling big time throughout the skit and then when the banana came out I just laughed out loud. I've gotten a kick out of all of the skits but the use of contemporary figures with the dig at Ray C. made this the best episode thus far.
