Hmmm... I can't say it's persuading me to get my wallet out. Or of anything really.

I believe I said I thought it was juvenile and self-debasing when I first saw it. I stand by that opinion.

I agree.... It's pitched at the intellectual level of creationists.

Stopped watching at the tide fairy.

Mock religion but do it with taste and style. Otherwise it comes off as whiney brats.

Wow! I just heard Bill O'Reilly say the smartest thing he has ever said (and that is a shallow field). He said he must be stupid. Well, Bill, I've got to agree with you there.

I agree, Bill O'Reilly gives a classically weak argument for the existence of God. But I am sorry, this video was pretty bad.

Bill O'Reilly is an idiot, but this one-joke video should be cut from 2.59 to about 8 seconds; then it might be moderately amusing rather than stupefyingly boring.

Steve Zara's Avatar Comment 14 by Steve Zara

I have to agree with the general view. It was not good.

The problem with the god of the gaps isn't that ignorance or incredulity is used to justify god. It's far worse and more damaging to faith than that. It's why many theologians detest the gaps argument.

The problem with the god of the gaps argument is that it makes the nature of god subject to test, and inevitably leads to god being diminished. If your all-powerful god is responsible for storms and then some scientist discovers how lightning works then there is less of your all-powerful god. That's the problem with the gaps argument.

I like this one :-)

That's much more like it.

Colbert does a much better and a much funnier mocking of Bill O'Reilly than the juvenile effort of the American Atheists.

With Bill O'Reilly it's a case of:

Facts go in and ignorance comes out. Always a miscommunication.

digofthedump's Avatar Comment 18 by digofthedump

I'm pretty sure Bill O'Reilly doesn't actually believe that the tides and sunset are unexplained or evidence of God in themselves....He's just them as examples of what he sees as an anthropological universe.

Seems silly to attack him for that.

I went into my local video store today and picked up an exciting new release! While I was there I noticed they had some movies I did not like, needless to say I wasted no time putting in my strong complaint and requesting they stop making movies I don't like.

Why do people feel the need to tell others they don't like the joke? Is it the psychological opposite of laughing out loud?

I'm missing some "First to post" comments too.
